Three times per line should at least a bit dependent on root's search depth and seems a bit to less for appropriate search depths. Three per node may be a "bit" to much, e.g. for pawn captures queen on the 7.rank and checks. May be only, if promotion to pawn ending occurs (besides the check). Gerd
