The answer is you should upgrade if you want to. No top program is going to gain 50 points by going from a P233 to a 450 at 40/2(not even chessmaster). At blitz however(game im 10 or less), the slower programs like Rebel and Hiarcs, might gain about 50 but that may even be too high, but at blitz their strength will increase to some degree.
