Of the programs I have purchased, here are the following, 1. Knightstalker, Fritz2, Fritz3, Fritz4, Fritz5, Franz Morsch 2. Junior5, Amir Bann (includes Crafty by Bob Hyatt and ExChess, by Dan Homann 3. Mephisto (came with the Siatek Auto Board), Richard Lang (I think) 4. The Chess Machine - A strong program on its own card using a RISK processor. Has two author's, Ed Schroeder & Johan de Konig (I think) 5. Rebel7, Rebel9, & Rebel10 on the way, by Ed Shroeder 6. Genius1, Genius2, Genius4, Genius5 Gold, by Richard Lang 7. Chessica, Franz Morsch (Though to be the windows version of Fritz3! It has an excellent integrated tutor program in 5 steps. Hundreds of good quizes! 8. TASCBASE database, includes the King2.4 (or something), by Johan de Konig 9. Chess Master 4000, CM5000, CM5500 and now, CM6000, by Johna de Konig, I think. 10.HIARCS 2.5, by Mark Uniacke. Haven't bothered to upgrade, as I never really cared for the GUI. 11.MChess 2.5 Had this on my first computer. Another really cool program, with one of the most interesting opening books, but again, a boring Dos Interface. All of them at one time or another could lay claim to being the best. Somehow, over time I have purchased them. A lot of this has to do with the creative marketing of either, ICD in Merrick Long Island, and Gambit-Soft in Germany. Obviously, I don't need all of these programs, but I have come to believe it is the chess addicts duty to support the various programs author's & companies. I'm also trying to improve my chess with Databases, Chess teaching programs, (Chess Mentor, and now the Chess Assistant products, Enclopedia of Middlegames, Strategy, and Studies. I even get new chess books from time to time. Money is an issue, but somehow over the years, I've found the extra few dollars here & there. Now, if only this Shit would really improve my game!:) mrslug - the inkompetent chess software addict!
