That's right. The storage format itself is very compact but there are lots of
indexes for speeding up searches.

500.000 games need about 300 MB.

Searching is pretty fast; there is a real MySQL server beneath, and MySQL is
very good at simple search queries.

Scrolling through huge lists is a bit slow but manageable.
Searching for positions is comparatively slow (proportional to database size).
