That's quite a difference for >changing nothing but the communication protocol. UCI protocol sends the complete stream of moves all the time. It does a number of other strange things. Some implementations (e.g. the ChessBase adapter) do stuff that looks nutty. What was the interface that you were running Ruffian with?
