It would be nice to know. my Shredder704.eng is dated 3/4/2003 my Engine704.exe (Shredder 7.04 UCI) is dated 3/5/2003 I suspect those are the latest versions, and there will probably be no more. Scuttlebutt is that they're releasing a Shredder 8 in December 2003, if I recall correctly(?). It would be nice if they would fix the bugs in Shredder 7 first, but I suppose that's too much to hope. Actually they did, with the March 2003 update, which works fine on my Windows XP Home computer. However that update is no longer available, apparently, and the Oct 2003 update is too buggy to use. Infinite Analysis mode stops spontaneously at random times, sometimes after a few minutes, sometimes an hour or more. So I had to revert to the prior March 2003 update. Unfortunately recent purchasers of Shredder 7, or those who failed to save a copy of the March 2003 update, will no longer be able to get a non-buggy update for Shredder 7. They're going after the bucks, I guess, but I wonder how many will users continue to support such a poor customer service? WP
