When I examine the code that MS VC++ generates, I often see lines like and eax, 7 test eax, eax je .... My question is: Is the "test" neccessary? It seems to work fine without (with inline assembler). If it really is unneccessary, is there any chance to get rid of this without use of inline assembler? Thanks, Eiko
