Dear Ludicrous,

He asked for a human-like engine. While your selections are  probably fun
engines, they are far from human-like, from what I've read.

For me, the clear choice is Rebel 12. If I didn't know better, I'd swear I was
watching a human play. I can recommend it highly. It's not tactically gifted,
like Shredder 7.04 or Junior, but it plays logical and "thoughtful" chess with
evidence of positional comprehension. As such, it selects the moves that a human
would, rather than searching for a short-term tactical solution to every
problem.
