I don't want to question your expertise but if the author of Rebel suggests not
to use an 8 year old book, that might be the first thing you want to change.

Of coarse, with all your extra expertise, you can ignore his suggestion  and
change the time control. After all, you are known as a great engine programmer
as well so you know best.
