I was going to post this as a separate new thread, but yours seems appropriately titled and near the top. I don't use the feature you mention related to PGN logging, but perhaps it's a clue for you nevertheless. ============================================= Shredder 7 - Oct 8 2003 update bug revisited ============================================= Perhaps I had a bad install the first time. I've now done a clean reinstall of Shredder 7 from the CD, then applied the prior March 2003 update (which I had saved). Then I redownloaded/reinstalled the Oct 8 2003 update for Shredder 7 from Playchess.com, and this time I haven't yet seen the prior problem with Infinite Analysis mode stopping at random times. I may be jumping the gun here because the new Shredder 7 installation hasn't been thoroughly tested yet, but I'm eager to report any good news re bug fixes or avoidances. Perhaps it's useful to someone else. So the best way to install an update seems to be... Close all software, everything except the Playchess.com link during the download. Then log off Playchess.com before installing the update. It should do it that way automatically, but sometimes the script may fail. Various things can interfere with scripts. If the script fails, you can do it manually. WP
