There is no reason to always print the output in xboard format.  All
xboard compatible GUIs send the engine the 'xboard' command, and if
your engine doesn't recieve this command you may safely print the output
in any way you like.

I also print the output differently when not running in xboard mode
(and when writing to log files), although it doesn't look quite as nice
as Crafty's output (I'm too lazy to implement SAN).
