Johan Actually, no offence was intended. Perhaps a little was taken, though? As it happens, I disagree with those who think that preparing variations in advance of a game to spring on an opponent is unethical. That your software simply outplayed Rebel is a testament to its strength. Frankly, I think that any stature I might have in the computer chess community is sufficiently low (more accurately: non-existent) that you need not be concerned with errant speculation on my part! For this reason, I was surprised to see your reply. I will be attending a WCCC for the first time this year. I am looking forward to meeting you and the other computer chess software developers. I will be presenting a paper at the ACG conference. I am confident this will give you ample opportunity to demonstrate just what a newb I am. ;-) Dave
