Faster than the hardware that I have.

Not a problem
I have no more than 256 Mb RAM

It is also more fun to win when the opponent has hardware advantage.

I am not participating but I do not like to spend money on
better hardware only for a competition.

I also do not like to spend money on travelling to another country when I know
that I have no practical chance to win the competition and it is another reason
not to participate.
