Those moves 20...Nb6 and 21...Bg6 do seem to give Ruffian a lot of play on the Kingside. I have four copies of Q5T running in ECTool now, -which by the way is not possible with Rebel 12 under ChessPartner running at the same time, it totally freezes the system if only one DOS-box with Rebel under ECTool is added, Sorry Lex, no error messages only Ctrl-Alt-Del will help in most cases so I can end CP as a task (After which I get the message, translated from Dutch "This program (i.e. ChessPartner) does not react, it has ended or it is waiting for input, do you want to terminate this task now? Unstored data will be lost" -. Q5T would also have played 20...Nb6 after a while and sees no difficulties ahead, +0.34, expecting the white Queen to go to b3 for some reason: Last Move : 20.Nfd2 (Black to play) [D]r2qr1k1/2p2ppp/p2p4/3n1b2/1p1PN3/P2Q4/1PPN1PPP/R3R1K1 b - - 00:00 03.01 0.11 20..Qh4 21.axb4 Nxb4 22.Qf3 00:00 04.00 0.09 20..Qh4 21.axb4 Nf4 22.Qf3 00:01 05.00 -0.02 20..Qh4 21.Qg3 Qxg3 22.fxg3 Bxe4 23.Nxe4 f5 00:02 05.01 0.11 20..Nf4 21.Qf3 Qh4 22.axb4 Bxe4 23.Rxe4 Rxe4 24.Nxe4 Rb8 00:03 05.13 0.12 20..bxa3 21.Qxa3 Qh4 22.Nf3 Qg4 23.h3 00:05 06.00 -0.10 20..bxa3 21.Rxa3 Qh4 22.Qg3 Qh6 23.c4 Qxd2 00:10 06.02 0.08 20..Qh4 21.Qg3 Qxg3 22.fxg3 Rab8 23.Rad1 h6 00:14 07.00 0.05 20..Qh4 21.Qg3 Qxg3 22.fxg3 Bxe4 23.Rxe4 Ne3 24.Rxe8+ Rxe8 25.Re1 00:23 07.03 0.05 20..Rb8 00:25 07.03 0.22 20..Rb8 21.Qxa6 Qh4 22.Nf3 Qf4 23.Ng3 Bxc2 00:35 08.00 -0.10 20..Rb8 21.Qxa6 Qh4 22.Ng3 Qxd4 23.Nxf5 Rxe1+ 24.Rxe1 Qxd2 00:49 08.01 0.20 20..Qh4 21.Qc4 Bxe4 22.Nxe4 Nf4 23.g3 Nh3+ 24.Kh1 01:57 08.18 0.25 20..Nf6 21.Nxf6+ Qxf6 22.Qxa6 Qxd4 23.Qb5 Re5 02:25 09.00 0.27 20..Nf6 21.Qf3 Nxe4 22.Nxe4 Bg6 23.axb4 Qe7 24.Nf6+ 03:54 10.00 0.09 20..Nf6 21.Qf3 Nxe4 22.Nxe4 Bg6 23.Re2 bxa3 24.Rxa3 d5 25.Nc5 20:00 10.32 0.38 20..Nb6 21.Qb3 bxa3 22.bxa3 d5 23.Ng3 Bg6 24.Rxe8+ 29:23 11.00 0.34 20..Nb6 21.Qb3 bxa3 22.bxa3 Bg6 23.Ng3 At least Rebel 12 seems to be consistent in its evaluation here, with the Rebel Century 2.0 Q5T personality chosing the same move, so I hope Ed can tweak a little with the evaluation terms to get Rebel to choose a different move? 21.Qf3 seems a logical reply to 20...Nb6, 20...Nf6 21.Nxf6 Qxf6 22axb4 -Black having not much compensation for the pawn- is maybe what I'd expect to be played but I haven't got my GM title yet... In the game, if not 37...Bxb5 but 37..Ra2 38.Qe5 Qxe5 39.dxe5 Bxb5 40.Ne6 or 40.gxf4 for instance is lost also for Black. [31:12 12.00 -0.90 37..Ra2 38.Qe5 Qxe5 39.dxe5 Bxb5 40.gxf4 d4 41.Ne6 Bc6+ says Rebel Q5T #1 of 4] Regards, Eelco
