I am not getting anything wrong here, I hope :-).  As I happen to know that
Frank Q. uses his "old" PIII dual, that means that the matches are with
pondering on.  But, you are right about 40/40 not being equal to tournament
rules.  However, tournament time controls are rapidly decreasing (for better or
worse...), and you can see that the oldest computer chess tourney, the Dutch
open, is played at the G/90 level...

It might well turn out that the new Ruffian is not stronger than Fritz 8.  But
that would be just great I think.  Because Fritz 8 is a mighty chess engine,
don't you think?
