You know better than I that Jeroen Noomen does a fantastic job of preparing opening lines that may pulverise the opponent. Thus it is very dangerous to use the most frequently played lines against a Noomen book. The aim was to use an older, almost forgotten, line and then when both programs are on their own, let them duke it out under equal conditions. I am happy that we managed to do this -- exclusively thanks to Perola's magnificent program which most people experience only as a fast searcher. It will become obvious that Ruffian is above all a very good positional player... As for the Arena / Ruffian commercial project, you may have prompted a good and logical move :-). Thanks for your comments and reply. Djordje
