However, using the Fritz GUI I had tried out Ruffian against Rebel 12 (full version) and it just occured to me that one of the possible transpositions might be the Ruy Lopez. I had both Ruffian and Rebel in the GUI and I made Ruffian play the transposition and saw it preparing to play 8.Bd5 actually. I also let Rebel think after the bishop move and saw Rebel thinking about b4? I tried out Fritz MMX too which also wanted to play b4... And then it was too late, about 5 a.m. and I simply gave up. I left the Ruffian lines for Rebel as they were and emailed them to Johan Havegheer, wishing for this particular line not to come up. And it did, just like they always do... One thing I was sure about was that Ruffian would not be handicapped, even in this line. All kudos to your unexpected 1...Nc6. Djordje
