That's the simple truth.
Reading about the achievements of current amateur programmers who have access to
public domain source code about almost every aspect of the chess programming
techniques makes me laugh.
It's going to take a lot more than "being best freeware chess engine" (what does
that mean anyway?) or "out of nowhere, made a good place at the SSDF" to impress
me.
Some people seem to have a pathologically shortsighted memory, or do not really
know what they are talking about...
