within the chessbase gui there is a feature which tells the engine how to play on or not. in fact when using the training databases(such as GM Schlosser's technique trainer) we are advised to use this setting so as the engine will not resign in a losing position in order to continue play in training mode. please check your settings. you have 'offer draw' set to never or some such.
