Yes, I am often cynical. The older I get, the more cynical I get. [Today is my Birthday. I just picked up another year's worth of cynicism. : )] It is very telling that the Chessbase programmers do not post bulletins here. They are "up to their eyeballs" in improving their software, especially since they now have some serious competition. They just simply don't have the time for anything else. My guess is that Jeroen is in the same boat and finally realized it. [It's the "curse" every top software programmer has to live with. Those at the top have no rest. They have sold their souls to Satan. : )] There was a time when I was active here. I guess I have seen just about everything in this forum, mostly good things I might add. When I tried to introduce ideas new to me, I often caught a LOT of flak. Now I am doing other things, as is my right. [You only live once.] It's a pity about Vincent. He is just simply not understood. He has a great sense of "warped" humor, which he often used effectively to drive Bob Hyatt to distraction. Vincent essentially said to Jeroen "You must have cheated because how else could your program have beaten mine?" That is simply a jab. Unfortunately, most people don't see the humor in Vincent's jabs. Evidently, Jeroen didn't!
