(so I'm pooped with the fun). Yes, Restarting in MS-DOS, from the W98 shutdown window, does me no good because I can't get into Drive D! I get a message like drive specification unknown, (sorry, there's a word that starts with the letter 'I', I can't remember, and I should find out before posting this...). That explains why I get the ERROR 780 when I run Hiarcs(due to the fact that I incorrectly installed it "while" I was in Windows98!, which I know is contrary to the intstructions, thus explaining the question) in msdos. So really the fundamental question is how to get to drive D, which is not germaine to this discussion group. Nonetheless, I was curious to post the original question. Moreover, I recollect the pain of trying to figure out how to get a mouse driver that was working in msdos, and you can't borrow the Windows98 one. I confess I only ever spent 40 hours reading about what MS-DOS was, and I did everything halfa** since. I wonder, when you boot to ms-dos today, is it the so called version 7.0? Would Microsoft resell me the floppy that contains MS-DOS 6.2? Yeah, I should get a friend or call MS but call me busy...
