I'm extremely surprised that the >SSDF guys do something that is clearly against the spirit of their list. If they are going to test it, the only alternative is to use no book at all. ChessMaster does not recognize its own book when played using auto232 as a Winboard engine. I think it is a sort of desperation move by the SSDF because they are sick and tired of the question "Why don't they ever test ChessMaster?" Of course, it will never answer the question about how strong is ChessMaster, since ChessMaster + Kure book != ChessMaster + CM book. Finally, the test methodology means that you will have to have *BOTH* products (CM & ChessBase) if you want to play with a similar getup to what they are testing.
