I have been working on a Toshiba 1900-101 for one year (using Windows ME and Red
Hat Linux 8/9).
Then I decided to get rid of it because it is too heavy (almost 4Kg).
So naturally I looked at a Toshiba Centrino model, the smallest and lightest.
However (it was last May), it was too expensive at that time.
I finally opted for a Dell x200. It has a PIII-933MHz processor, weights only
1.3Kg and is really small. I carry it twice a day between home and office, and
everywhere I go. I don't even notice it.
The Toshiba Centrino model would have been maybe 30% faster for almost the same
weight (1.4Kg), but that wasn't worth, for me, the price difference. Also, the
lack of support for Centrino under Linux by Intel decided me to stay with good
old PIII.
