The SSDF can use non-default settings. This has always been done and is fair.
The only requirement is that the customer must be able to use the same settings
without paying for anything additional.
So ChessMaster's manufacturer would just have to add the following on the box:
"achieved XXXX elo rating on the SSDF with the ChessBase GUI (must be purchased
separately) and the ChessBase opening book (must be purchased separately)".
Yeah, that sucks!
