They will certainly tell us these secrets after the games finished. I think that if a program will win a match it will be a revolution!! For me i think that there is only shredder (may be chessmaster) who seem to be capable of winning such an event. I want to know how are the programs used to analyse in this event. Do we make them think in infinite time or does the operator try many responses played by the computer for example in each position we make the computer think for a few hours and then we take the best five moves and try each variation. Example: after 1.d4 d5 2.c4 e6 many moves are possible, if we say that 3.Nf3 3.Nc3 and 3.cd5 are the best moves then we've got variations rising after these moves. 3.Nf3 Nf6 4.Bg5 .... Then the human make the move 3.Nf3 and let the computer think for an hour, we choose another time the best variations that we will try etc... Such a method of work is really very interesting for both oponents because we then gain much much time but also much much accuracy in the evaluation of the position. In the other hand, if we use such a method it looks like it's correspondance chess computer assisted and not a match between a human and a computer. In the Chessfriends webpage, i haven't seen where we talk precisely of the conditions under which the match was played, so if someone knows the truth i would like to share a part of it with him.
