Two points:

I find it very funny when a "youngster" without any titles in CC calls you an
old idiot.

Let me clarify this. I for one dont think that this is meant as a true insult.
It is also not with self-humor. Because do you really believe that Vincent
missed the fact that you were two times Wch and he must struggle to keep his
machine going properly while his chess is higher than 2200?

I can say "old idiot" and it means something like this: look, I am tired after
this shit tournament, I feel empty like a bottle, why do you nag me all the
time?? Couldn't you tell me what I could do to become better, you old idiot??!!

Bob, I have looked at the nice pics from the Leiden tournament and I saw a very
smiling Vincent. He's not the one to spit venomenous insults in your direction.
His belly is becoming weay too big. But his smile is outrageously confident.

Please do also consider that Vincent did never complain in the name of Diep. He
always argued in the name of Sjeng or its author.

To me, please correct me if I am completely wrong, your own critic of the
practice of a _thrice_ times book author engagement was much more letal than
what Vincent wrote. What you wrote could be the end of a long tradition for
Jeroen. What Vincent asked is IMO, excuse me, an allowed reflection and stirring
up of a debate. But ok, I do not know the complete content of the threads. But
the original question was interesting. It was just a question. What would any
science do without questions? I think we have much too little questions of
interest. NB that Vincent just came out of a deceiving tournament. In the debate
about the use of Fritz general.ctg in SSDF I could read that more people than
just Vincent are confused by such a practice. You was one of them. Why not
letting Vincent ask questions of enormous practical CC interest?

A last thought that you might well consider. Vincent is proud of his connection
with the late Louwman who was famous for his extreme impolite verbal jabs and
uppercuts. Louwman was a Dutch Jew IMO who lost many family members by the
Nazis. And he had to live his last years with extreme pain due to illnesses. I
do not excuse Vincent, but knowing a particular background can often aat least
explain a bit something seemingly outrageous. Please let's not be too rigid in
condemning such a motivated guy. Just give him a smiling eye in the memory of
Jan Louwman. Thanks.
