Hi, I would post this somewhere else, but I have no clue where any help forums are and this seems like a place where there are a lot of computer savvy people (or nerds if you want to call them) so... Not too long ago my computer stopped working. Tried getting it to work again recently, I thought it might be a hard drive crash but wasn't sure so I put in the Restoration CD and erased all the files on it, reloaded them and when I start up the little "meter" that shows windows is loading had nothing in it. I then turned off the computer, started it back up, it ask me which mode I wanted to boot it in I chose "Last known good configuation" or something of the sort and it gave me an error stating "Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: \WINDOWS\system32\config\SYSTEM" I have no clue as to what that means, but I'm wondering if the harddrive has been disconnected or something? Are the files on the Restoration disk corrupt? Thanks for the help. BTW, this is my computer chess test computer so it kinda makes it on-topic...sorta...
