It is mate in 15 The really nice CCC search engine of Andrei unfortunately does not work for FENs. But in the end, one can find previous discussions about a position rather easy nevertheless. Copy the FEN to the clipboard. Click on CCC search engine. Paste the FEN to the "Enter search expression" field. Replace all "/" with spaces. For that position, it will give the URL: http://www.chess-archive.com/ccc.php?expr=6r1+2rp1kpp+2qQp3+p3Pp1P+1pP2P2+1P2KP2+P5R1+6R1&subject=&author=&email=&nr=50 (You might need to trim this to one line). And you will see all previous discussions about this pos, where the pos was mentioned as FEN (some interesting followowups may have snipped the pos, but you can find those by clicking on "View Thread" after having selected one of the found postings). >My previous position is mate in 11. > >Is Your program written with special logic for solving mate, or it is general >chess program with possibility to find mate? The later. A general chess program. But I tried to take care a bit, that it it reliable in announced mate scores. Regards, Dieter PS. After I had tried to search for the above position, I saw messages by "Paul". Where is he? He posted quite regualarily here; especially as answers to your (Leonid) typical "easy mate" positions.
