Shirov has a point though.  You can find positions, even tactical positions,
where computers have a very hard time, and humans find the solutions within
tournament time controls.

He just didn't choose the right positions.

Also, there is an issue of whether or not a program can reach these positions.
You can have a program that can find a nice tactical k-side mate in 12 in
nothing flat, but which will never reach a position where such a mate exists,
except perhaps for the other side.

Takes mine 4:03 (minutes, not hours) to find ... b4, on a P2/300, while I'm
sitting here typing out this response.

I'll send a message to him on ICC, asking him to provide positions that are more
challenging.
