Yes...he told me it was an older model, but since this was just sort of an
experiment for me, I didn't want to spend much more (I got this one - new - for
$50 USD...including the three minutes of driving for him to get here and ten
minutes of labor for installation! :-)).

Hee hee!  I think my chess programs (at least at their higher rated
"personalities") can squish me with their brains tied behind their backs! :-)  I
also don't like to play blitz games (at all), because chess, for me, is a
leisurely pursuit...with *lots* of time for me to think about each move.

I'll keep an eye on the CPU usage, and see what I can see.  Thanks for the
warning.

If I begin to notice the computer playing less well against me, or if I just
want to test myslef against the engines at their strongest, I guess I'll just
close other programs and set the priority back to "normal" or better.
