Albert, I did all of the above.  I appreciate your patience.  My CDROM DRIVE is
D:  The drivers are not only installed, but they are updated. Yet I get that
specification message.  Autoexec.bat looks normal as far as I can see, (like
looking under a hood of the car, without knowing that you are looking at the
boot/trunk!

Did you know that the config.sys has one line?  At least in my system.  It reads
Path=C:\excel

And that's it!  No more.  Obviously, something conceptually is missing under my
hood/noggin.
So, this is where I am confused as to this issue of some MSDOS 7.0 under Windows
95, I vaguely recall, and who knows about W98.

Should have bought a G3 Apple, as I am a dumb bunny.
