Keep going Odell! Hi Howard, and Lanny Although I appreciate the compliments I am somewhat of a realist,as I have said in earlier posts, I have played hundreds of games against rebel on my 486 having only won once. I recently got rid of the old contraption about two months ago I doubt very seriously that my play could have improved that much in only two months. I prefer to accept the explanation given by bruce moreland that I lucked up into a anti-computer type of position. Personally I never understood the idea of anti-computer play did not think it really worked. When I defeated hiarcs6 I beame convinced because It was clear that when the program had no tactical posibilities to consider in a locked position it didn't know what to do. (classical kingsindian) The win over hiarcs6 did not particulary surprise me, for I never was completely convinced that it was all that hot of a program. When I beat rebel10 it was quite a shock!! When a person get's beat hundreds of games by a program this has the psychological effect of unnerving them. So once I found myself in a winning position I could not really believe , but thought there was something that rebel would come up with that I was missing(like is usually does!). I think this is why even now I am having problems accepting my victory as authentic.
