Kasparov asked for a repeat match in the summer of 1997 and IBM declined. I was told that IBM explained its decision that there already exists a "win-win situation" in which each side won one match. Kasparov's been lobbying some big Silicon Valley companies to develop a massively-parallel chess machine and continue the challenge that IBM dropped. I know he managed to create some interest in one of those companies, but I think there was no follow-up. Amir
