As one who has examined computer chess cheating several years ago -- let me
throw this out there ... if you look at non cheating games - the chances of one
player following a non book line that a computer will play for 8 moves in
succession in non end game situation is very slim. Although under the law of
probabilities it is certainly possible. For it to happen to several games in a
row by one player is, IMO, has a DNA type level of confidence (99.99%+) that
the player cheated. To illustrate this point - go back to any GM game from the
1950/60's and find one game where one program will play a GM move for 8 moves in
a row in a non opening/non endgame situation. If you find a game -- look at any
other game that GM played in that year and see if the GM also played another
game in the same year that matches the above criteria. It can't be found IMO.
Perhaps one game may be found - but the second game in the same year by the same
player will not be found.
The odds of that happening is so low, will not happen except for once out of a
(huge number un the multiple billions) etc. For it to happen 3 or 4 times over
several days defies logic except to say the player cheated.
Anyone who cheats long enough will be caught - eventually, if somebody is
looking for it.
