I think that it is more important for humans who want to beat programs. It's
hard to beat a program on tactical issue, so the better thing to do could be to
prepare the endgame since the opening. This could be done for grand-masters or
very good players... not me ;-). A move that give us a little chance in the
endgame, can not to be seen by the program, for horizon problems or lacks in its
evaluation function. The same could happens for program vs program, when the
evaluation function of one of the two take care of some endgame trips that the
other one doesn't know.
