"It seems having a very large opening Book is not good against Human players"

Ken Thompson was the programmer for Belle, an early chess playing computer that
was the first to achieve master level play. He noted the problem with large
opening books as well. He said (paraphrase) that the value of the opening books
was proportional to the square root of its size; that is, adding more and deeper
lines only *slowly* increased its actual value.
