Perhaps I could have worded my statements to be more clear. Please accept my apology. The facts are that your posts in this thread are mostly comprised of speculation and poisoning the well. I don't see how my being a 21 year old student, or Kasparov having a big nose (in your opinion), has anything to do with this discussion. http://www.nizkor.org/features/fallacies/poisoning-the-well.html We only disagree in our own speculations about Kasparov, which we know nothing about, so let's drop that. We both agree that it would be nice to see someone else play a big computer match (I'd like to see Smirin again). I was only pointing out that money is what drives these matches, and it is perceived by the people who make the decisions that Kasparov will bring the biggest return on their investment. Maybe they are right, or maybe not. You have to remember that us here at the CCC are in the great minority, and the decisions probably aren't made with us in mind. They care about how many people will tune into ESPN, and Kasparov probably has better name recognition than any other chess player (any active player, anyway). That is only my opinion, of course :-)
