The struggle for topicality is endemic to all newsgroups. Incidentally, it is traditionally acceptable to discuss topicality of any subject in any newsgroup. It would not be hard to do the math. My guess is much less than 5% post. Most only read. That's true for most newsgroups. There's even a name for it. It's called "lurking." One of my dreaded diseases is too much posting and too little lurking. My other dreaded disease is putting my foot into it once in a while.
