Hi, I've been a happy owner of Fritz 8 for the past 3 weeks. During that time I've only scratched the surface of the program's capabilites - playing, analysis, engine matches, etc. I've also collected several free chess engines that I use to conduct engine matches - Aristarch, Yace, Crafty, Ruffian (boy, this one is tough), etc. Does anyone have a recommendation on the next commercial chess program I should look into purchasing? Specifically, I would like one that differs as much as possible in playing style when compared to Fritz 8. I hear things like "Suchandsuch 13.9 plays much more positionally," or "Flarbin Blah 9.0 is a tactical monster." Is anyone out there able to offer some guidance on which of the following programs play most differently from Fritz? Hiarcs 9 Junior 8 Shredder 7 Chess Tiger 15 Any other strong commercial programs that I'm missing? Thanks.
