The King's Indian Defense is not suitable for tournament and match play because after one plays the Bayonet Attack the King's Indian is busted. (If you don't know this by now you don't play modern chess). Even in amateur's games the Bayonet Attack will bust the King's Indian. In 85% of the time someone is stupid enough to play the King's Indian against me I bust it with the Bayonet Attack. I don't know about the Grunfeld but in tournaments covered by TWIC and ChessBase leading grandmasters are hesitant to play the Grunfeld in 2003. You should know by this that I replay games in major GM tournaments that are published.
