One of my dreaded diseases is too much posting and too little >lurking. My other dreaded disease is putting my foot into it once in a while. I didn't see anything particularly bothersome... I've been running Linux for at least 7 years here that I can date back to, probably a little longer. It has its plusses and minuses. Software has always been a minus. IE gcc is at least 10% slower than MSVC 5. There are fewer applications... those that are there are harder to set up and use. But the price is right, the performance is right, and for what I do (multiprocessing) there's no better system around performance-wise. And since I've been using unix for over 20 years now, I am quite at-home using linux, which is another plus. The windows folks aren't going to be as happy, nor as successful. But it doesn't matter. At least with linux, "reboot" is a rare word. :) I heard that windows-98 was code-named Monica Lewinsky because it goes down so often. :) But nothing wrong with speaking your mind... I've suffered thru good and bad operating systems... So far, Linux is a breath of fresh air... with a few smelly odors from time to time. :)
