Subject: Does your engine see this position as perfectly even?

Author: Cliff Sears

Who is ahead here? VERY subtle positional advantage.

Black to move - position after 31 fxg5 .... (is this perfectly even?)

This is the position in game one of Kasparov-Deep Blue.
Kasparov went on to win the game. Engine analysis is even but
Daniel King (from his book Kasparov vs Deeper Blue) notes that
"Kasparov is down a rook for a bishop, but for the moment Black's rooks
have little to say. The real pride of White's position is the bishop
on b2"
