A nerd is a name used by a high school student who is "cool" or socially
popular, but is a bad student. They are jealous of other people's excellent
grades and therefore tries to get their friends and "in-crowd" to despise them.
Therefore, the insult, "You NERD!" should be translated as a singsongy "You're
smarter than me so haha."

Hope this clears the matter up.
James
