The trouble is not with the match, but with insulting postings from one guy
("tw"). Some others do not accept him to send any postings again.
By the way "Amateurplayer" is not the correct term, because cc players ar all
amateurs (you cannot earn money with it).
But your idea might be interesting, to have a comparison. Unfortunately it is
much work to be done in order to organise such a match lasting about one year.
Uri Blass, who was very close to organise it with guys from this site, may tell
you... His player, Tansel Turgut, had to stop his plans for a match, because it
would have taken him too much time.

p.s. The cc games in the match Nickel - 6 engines are really exciting (some of
them), but you have to look for the German site of www.chessfriend.com in order
to see the last update. The English translation has not been done so far. may be
tomorrow or Sunday?
