Bayonet is not better and no worse than other continuations for white. It is simply more popular now. I personally don't find it any impressive. As black I have played KID since I was 5 years old, and never had any problem with it, even against players stronger than me (including victories against a good deal of FMs and several IMs). And as white I prefer Samisch. Yesterday's match simply reconfirmed that the KID formation gives black a comfortable game, with good winning chances. I fail to see how some people have reached the conclusion that KID is weak, only based on Kasparov's one move blunder... >cordially yours, Frank Nelson
