Darryl,

I have many fine nerd friends who do not play chess. I have a few MD friends
who are not nerds who love chess. Some of my lawyer friends are candidate
masters and they are not nerds.

Most of my super-nerd friends with 160 to 180 IQs tell me that they don't have
time to waste on games. I really think that Bill Gates would fit in the last
category. He is in stark contrast to Gary Kasparov who has rugged good looks
and an aggressive personality. Kasparov is not a nerd!

You can also be a nerd and be not too smart. You then might play chess and go
to concerts to appear as an intellectual. That is OK. We all have some use in
this world.
