Subject: Ideas for King Safety in a 0x88 Engine

I've got piece-square tables and some pawn structure. My first attempts at king
safety (simply trying to attract pieces toward the kings in the endgame) vary
from useless to harmful to overall strength. What are some simple concepts of
king safety that have worked?
