Yes. Shredder is slow. Books are more compact than ctg though.
Make your own bookbuilder, solves all problems ;)

Yes, same problem - Shredder book format is slow.

I see no advantage of FBK over PGN if you're importing games, not
move trees. I used FBK for move trees and ChessBase Light handled those
without limitations.
