If starting as black, gaining a quick draw is a brilliant, if boring, strategy. If you could do this all the time and win playing white it would make your program win a lot of tournaments. I do find it surprising, given the current eval. Repetition draws make more sense as an escape valve to me, when you are in a wee bit of trouble.
