I've got a strange problem with my computer. I'm running a 3GHz machine with 1GB memory and Windows XP Professional. The machine is hyperthreaded, but my versions of Crafty and Ruffian are single threaded. When I start analysis the machine runs with full speed, but already after ca. 4-5 mins. it is running with the speed of a 2GHz machine and it is still slowing down. I also noticed that it runs the same programs with big variations in speed. I've tried stopping all other programs and turning off virus checking, but nothing seems to help. I've upgraded from XP Home to XP Professional - I don't know if that is releveant. Anybody got an idea how to help fix my problem ? Best regards Andreas Stabel
